Roy Dale “John” Girch, age 87, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Cambridge Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born in Arapahoe, Nebraska on October 27, 1927 to Vernon & Helen (Mills) .
He attended school and graduated from Arapahoe High School with the Class of 1945. While attending high school he was out for football, basketball, and track all four years. He enlisted in the Navy and spent twenty months in China until being honorably discharged in 1948. He was a member of the Arapahoe Fire Department for 12 years and member of Peace Lutheran Church until it disbanded at which he became a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska.
He enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone. He was an avid bowler and participated in League Bowling for Fritz Flying Service.
