Ruby May Kentfield, age 101, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away June 13, 2015 at the Goshen Care Center. She was born March 4, 1914 on a farm southwest of Oxford, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Davis) Shepard.
She attended rural school at District 87 until the eighth grade and then attended Beaver City High School where she graduated in 1933. She married Merlin Kentfield on Aug. 7, 1938. She worked at Hubbard’s Clothing Store, Kelley’s Market and as a clerk/typist at the County Clerk’s office and later at the Gambles Store until she retired. She moved to Torrington in 1995.
Ruby is survived by a son, Rodger & wife Linda Kentfield of Cheyenne; a brother, Dale; three grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles; and six brothers and sisters.

There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Keith Theobald, officiating. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Cheyenne Shrine Club in care of Rodger Kentfield, 5640 Blue Bluff, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82009. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
