Ruth Elizabeth Clason, age 82, of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Josie Harper Hospice House, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on April 28, 1930 to Adolf Oscar and Hulda Josefina (Johnson) Wasenius in Oxford, Nebraska.
She graduated from Beaver City High School where she received “Normal Training” for her teaching certificate. She taught 2 years at District #8 country school. She married Eugene Clason on June 1, 1949, to this union were born 3 sons & 5 daughters. They were lifelong residents of the Precept area southwest of Beaver City, Nebraska. They farmed there all their life, as she continued to get the daily markets & sell grain up until weeks before death. Later in life she enjoyed teaching “Rainbows” preschool children with her husband. As a young wife she worked in the fields, was a seamstress for her children, and also known for being a wonderful cook. She was the love of her husband’s life, enjoying over 60 years of marriage. She loved visits from family and being in her kitchen was everyone’s favorite place.
She & her husband built the Dairy Queen in Beaver City in 1968 and operated it until 1976 at which time they sold it. She began dispatching for Clason Trucking Company in 1979 – late 1990’s. She & her husband also bought the Sale Barn in Phillipsburg, Kansas in the mid ‘80’s and sold it in the late ‘90’s.
She was preceded in death were her parents, husband & brother Allen Wasenius.
She is survived by her three sons: Steven Clason and wife, Rachelle of Beaver City, Nebraska

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Faith Community Church, in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Dobie Weasel, officiating. Burial will be at the Precept Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
