Kearney, Nebraska Tommy E. Wheeler, age 51, of Oxford, Nebraska passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska as the result of an automobile accident. He was born November 25, 1961 at Alamosa, Colorado to Ernest S. and Geneva R. (Kerchner) Wheeler. He graduated from Watonga High School in Watonga, Oklahoma with the class of 1981. He moved to Oxford, Nebraska and worked at the Oxford Cheese Factory. He married Kandy Knipschild on July 4, 1987 at Beaver City, Nebraska. After the Oxford Cheese Factory closed, he worked for Stewart’s Tree Service, of Holdrege, Nebraska and Furnas County Farms at Oxford, Nebraska. He has worked for Holdrege Irrigation, of Holdrege, Nebraska for the last 15 years. He loved all his nieces and nephews and spending time with each one. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing video games, WWE wrestling, and Oklahoma Sooner football. He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Wheeler, brother Leonard Wheeler, sister Kathy McWilliams, and brother-in-law Randy Knipschild. He is survived by his wife Kandy Wheeler of Oxford, Nebraska Mother: Geneva Wheeler of Edison, Nebraska Step Daughter: Justine Cassidy & fiancé Jason McMurray of Hastings, Nebraska Brother: Randy Wheeler & wife Cathy of Edison, Nebraska Sisters: Charlene Campbell & husband Frank of Edison, Nebraska Sandy Smith & Brian Scheske of Edison, Nebraska Mother-In-Law: Freda Marble of Oxford, Nebraska Father-In-Law: Gib Knipschild & wife Joan of Tuttle, Oklahoma Sister-In-Law: Kitty Harbison & husband Tony of Bastrop, Texas Condolences and personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Oxford, Nebraska with Rev. Dale Hedstrom and Jane Blume, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Union Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
