Vaughn William Dawson

Arapahoe, Nebraska Vaughn William Dawson, age 92, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was born on May 26, 1915 to Walter & Lena (Roepke) Dawson in Gosper County, Nebraska. He grew up in the Turkey Creek neighborhood of Gosper County, Nebraska and attended school in Gosper County, Nebraska. On September 24, 1937, he married Mildred Hays at St. Germanus Catholic Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They would farm & ranch north of Arapahoe, Nebraska on the Turkey Creek for 45 years. They retired and moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska in February of 1980. During his retirement, he delivered cars for Faw Garage of Arapahoe, Nebraska & was a partner in High Plains Resources Oil & Gas Exploration Company in Hobart, Oklahoma. He would serve on the Edison Co-op & Farmers Home Administration Board of Directors. He was a member of the St. Germanus Catholic Church, Arapahoe, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis McKenzie, & brothers Farrell & Lowell Dawson, & Great-Great Nephew Alec Koller. He is survived by his wife Mildred Dawson of Arapahoe, Nebraska 2 Sisters-in-law & 2 Brothers-in-law 28 Nieces & Nephews & their families. Viewing & visitation will be Sunday, September 2, from 2 PM till 8 PM & Monday, September 3, from 9 AM till 5 PM at the Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church. Rosary/Wake service will be Monday, September 3, at 7:30 PM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 4, at 10:30 AM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Interment will be at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
