Beaver City, Nebraska Velda I. Bieghler, age 87, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born January 15, 1921 at Calvert, Kansas to George & Emma (Akins) Roberts. Velda grew up & spent her first 19 years in Kansas then her family moved to Red Willow County, Nebraska. She married Dean Bieghler on October 31, 1946 at Norton, Kansas. They farmed in the Hendley and Wilsonville areas. In the early 1960's she attended Holdrege Beauty Center at Holdrege, Nebraska and received her cosmetology license. She practiced in Hendley, Nebraska for 20 years, and then was beauty operator at Beaver City Manor for 9 years. They moved to Beaver City, Nebraska in 1975 and resided here since. Her husband Dean died August 6, 2006. She was a member of United Methodist Church at Hendley, Nebraska for over 50 years. She also was Sunday School teacher for a number of years. Survivors include: Son; Rick of Beaver City, Nebraska Daughter: Kay Roberts of Lincoln, Nebraska Brother: Kenneth (Bud) Roberts and wife Donna of Bea, Nebraska Grandchildren: 5 Great-Grandchildren: 2 She was preceded in death by parents: George & Emma; husband: Dean; Daughter-in-law, Cindy Bieghler; Brothers: Fred, Clark, Walter, Ora & Robert; Sisters: Ferne Eshelman and Wilva Lamb-Hutchens. Condolences or personal reflections can be left at http://www.wenburgfuneralhome.com/ Viewing and visitation will be Sunday & Monday, 1 PM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1:30 PM at First United Methodist Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastors Robert E. Berlie, Sr. & Bill Weaver, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
