Victor C.W. Haussler

Arapahoe, Nebraska Victor C.W. Haussler, age 84, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at his home in Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was born on August 25, 1920 in Furnas County, Nebraska to August & Anna (Mues) Haussler. He attended country school at St. Matthews Parocial School. After school he worked for other farmers in the area until enlisting in the Army on August 21, 1942. He served during World War II and was discharged on December 27, 1945. After completing his service duty he came back to Arapahoe to farm. On Dec. 27, 1948 he married Audre E. Menze at Minden, NE. They made their home on the family farm north and west of Arapahoe. In 1975 they moved into Arapahoe, NE. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #96, & Lion’s Club, all of Arapahoe, NE. Served on F.H.A. Board and as a 4-H leader. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cynthia Haussler, brothers August & Albert, and sister Alice Hilker. Survivors include wife: Audre E. Haussler of Arapahoe, NE Son: Scott & wife Cindy Haussler of Arapahoe, NE Daughter: Jill & husband Bill Snyder of Arapahoe, NE Brother: Robert Haussler of Cambridge, NE Sister: Dorothy & husband Paul Fisher of Ogallala, NE Grandchildren: 4 Great Grandchildren: 3 Viewing & visitation will be Sunday, May 8, from 1 PM till 8 PM & Monday, May 9, from 9 AM till 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE and prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 10:30 AM the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Jeff Ernstmeyer, officiating. Burial will be at St. Matthews Cemetery, Holbrook, NE. Military rites given by the American Legion Post #96 of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Arapahoe Area Foundation for the Veterans Memorial Project.
