Vivian Joyce Rogers

Vivian Joyce Rogers, age 74, of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Beaver City Assisted Living in Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born June 7, 1941 at Cambridge, Nebraska to Vaughn & Delores (Dillon) Meader. Joyce grew up south of Wilsonville, Nebraska on Mocking Bird Hill where she also attended country school. They later moved to Holbrook, Nebraska and graduated from Holbrook High School with the class of 1958. After high school she went on to Hastings, Nebraska and attended Beautician School. In 1963, she married Gary Rogers and two children were born to this union; Todd and Tonya. They helped run the family business, Rogers Grain Company for many years. Joyce was the secretary and bookkeeper. She also would work as a waitress for Rod Harding at the Panhandler restaurant in Beaver City. She worked at the ASCS office in Beaver City and the Beaver City Manor as a Dietician. While her daughter owned the Brandin Iron restaurant in Beaver City, she did the bookkeeping for the business. She always enjoyed following her grandchildren in school activities and 4-H, helping car pool whenever she could. She was very active in the Beaver City Athletic Booster Club while her children were in school. Graveside service will be held on October 31, 2015 at 2 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City with Pastor Keith Theobald, officiating.
